The latest single from the ‘Walk On Faith’ album by Brad Davis, “Black Sheep” (Avid Group Publishing/BMI), will debut in the Singing News Bluegrass Gospel Top 10 chart in the February issue of the Singing News magazine (the largest Christian Music publication in the country).
The song was originally written and recorded by singer/songwriter ‘Country’ Johnny Mathis five decades ago with Johnny Paycheck covering the song on a Gospel album shortly after Mathis wrote it. Davis produced and debuted the first Bluegrass version of the song, which was released as a final single from the album during the latter part of 2015 by Mansion Entertainment.
The title cut to the ‘Walk Of Faith’ album is a co-write between Davis, Paula Breedlove and John Mathis Jr. Some of the highlights from this album include Davis performing selections of the album on TBN’s Praise The Lord, hosted by Jason Crabb and the release of a concept video of “Never Give The Devil A Ride” (produced & directed by John Mathis Jr.) which aired on multiple national television networks including Daystar, Heartland, LeSea, TCT and others.
*Note: This is also the first time where John Mathis Jr and his father ‘Country’ Johnny Mathis had songs on the same album.
